Need Tyres Quickly?

If your tyre looks damaged, is losing air, or you’ve got a warning light on, follow this quick plan:

  • Check if it’s safe to drive. If the tyre is very low, has a bulge, or the sidewall is split, don’t risk it. Call us for advice on 01884 259191.
  • Find your tyre size. It takes about 10 seconds, see the guide below.
  • Call us with your tyre size or reg, which tyres need doing, and when you can come in.
  • If your car pulls left or right, or the steering wheel sits off-centre, mention it. You may need your wheel alignment checking, also called tracking.

Tyre Replacement and Fitting Costs

Tyre prices can vary a lot, even for the same size. Here’s what affects the cost of your replacement tyres:

  • Tyre size, larger wheels and low-profile tyres usually cost more
  • Brand and type, budget, mid-range, or premium
  • Load and speed rating required for your car
  • Run-flat tyres, if your car uses them
  • Extra work like wheel alignment if tracking is out

Want a fast, accurate quote? Have one of these ready:

  • Your reg number, or
  • The tyre size from the sidewall

And let us know if you need:

  • 1 tyre
  • 2 tyres on the same axle
  • All 4 tyres

How To Find Out What Tyres You Need

Look on the sidewall of your current tyres for something like:
205/55 R16 91V

Here’s what it means:

  • 205, tyre width in mm
  • 55, tyre profile
  • R16, wheel size in inches
  • 91, load rating
  • V, speed rating

If you can’t read it, just give us your car reg and we’ll sort it.

Does My Car Need New Tyres?

Tyres usually show signs before they become a problem. Check for these signs that you may need replacements:

  • Tread close to the wear bars
  • Cracks in the rubber
  • Bulges or blisters on the sidewall
  • A nail or screw in the tyre
  • Vibration at speed
  • Car pulling to one side
  • Uneven wear, especially on one edge

Uneven wear usually means something else. If a tyre wears on one edge, fitting a new one without fixing the cause can lead to the same issue again.

Common causes include:

  • Tracking or alignment issues
  • Incorrect tyre pressure over time
  • Worn suspension parts

We’ll explain what we find and what’s worth fixing.

What Happens During Tyre Fitting

Here’s what to expect when you come in:

  • We confirm tyre size and check condition
  • We fit and seat the tyres correctly
  • We balance the wheels to reduce vibration
  • We set the correct pressures
  • We flag anything that could cause early wear

How long does tyre fitting take?

Most tyre fittings are done as quickly as possible. If you’re on a tight schedule, let us know when booking and we’ll give you a realistic time.

Tyre Fitting FAQs

Can you repair punctures?

Sometimes, if it’s safe and in the right area. Sidewall damage usually cannot be repaired.

Do I need two tyres or four?

If wear is even, many people replace two on the same axle. If all four are worn, replacing all may be the better option. We’ll advise based on what we see.

My steering wheel shakes, is that tyres?

It can be. It may be balancing, tyre damage, or a wheel issue. Tell us when it happens and we’ll check it.

Do I need alignment after new tyres?

Not always. But if there’s uneven wear or the car doesn’t drive straight, it’s worth checking.
