A standard car aircon regas at our Tiverton workshop includes:

We service petrol, diesel, hybrid and most electric vehicles, including newer cars (2017 onwards) which use R1234yf gas - something many smaller garages aren’t equipped for. We can also add an anti-bacterial cabin clean to clear out any lingering smells and freshen up the cabin filter at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I regas my car’s aircon?

Around every two years, or sooner if cooling performance has dropped off. Refrigerant naturally escapes over time, so a periodic top-up is normal - even on a perfectly working system.

How long does an aircon regas take?

Most regas appointments take around 45-60 minutes. If we spot a leak or a faulty component during the pressure test we’ll let you know the options before doing any further work.

Which aircon gas does my car use - R134a or R1234yf?

As a rule of thumb, cars registered before 2017 use R134a, and most cars registered from 2017 onwards use R1234yf. We stock both gases and have the correct equipment for each, so we can service almost any car that comes in.

Can I regas my aircon myself with a DIY kit?

You can buy DIY kits, but without a vacuum test and the proper equipment they often hide a leak rather than fix it - and using the wrong gas can seriously damage your system. A professional regas costs more upfront but saves you from much bigger bills later on.

How much does a car aircon regas cost in Devon?

Why does my car aircon smell musty?
